Inspired by the poster artist Franz Josef Lenhart, Aldo Borgo has now sculpted figures in clay from the characters in the tourism posters. This mini-exhibition, staged in the smallest room along the tour, creates a feeling of three-dimensionality – just as if the characters themselves had sprung from the posters and were sitting there, relaxed on their loungers or with their sports equipment. It is a delightful way to trace the history of the art of publicity and its transition into solid form.
