The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle

The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle cover an area of 12 hectares and extend over an altitude difference of 100 metres, offering a stunning view of the 80 different garden landscapes, of the city of Merano/Meran and of the surrounding mountain ranges. The gently meandering paths through the garden offer visitors the opportunity to explore four garden worlds home to plants from all over the world, across sunny terraces and past gurgling stream waters.

The South Tyrol Museum of Tourism

Amidst its Gardens, the majestic Trauttmansdorff Castle also houses the “Touriseum”, the provincial Museum of Tourism, with its interactive display narrating 250 years of history of alpine tourism. The Touriseum is the first museum in the Alps that entirely focusses on the theme of tourism, narrating the story of its introduction in Tyrol, the changes it brought to the region and how it all affected the local population.
